Contributing Writer: Serin Bond-Yancey

Serin Bond-Yancey (they/any) is a Disabled, queer, nonbinary, multiply-neurodivergent, antiracist accomplice. Serin serves as the Executive Director of the Transgender Health and Wellness Center of Washington, and works with a diverse portfolio of nonprofits as an Impact, Equity, and Accessibility Consultant.

Serin has been a Contributing Writer for Community Commons since 2021, sharing their expertise in accessibility, equity, diversity, and inclusion (AEDI). Serin is most passionate about centering the voices of people with lived experience, and leveraging accessibility as a cornerstone for transformative change.

Serin brings 20+ years of experience consulting with nonprofits and small businesses on AEDI, organizational development, values alignment, and strategic impact. They hold a Bachelors in community-based health and development from The Evergreen State College, and are currently pursuing a dual Masters of Public Health and Masters of Social Work at the University of Washington.

Serin resides in the rural outskirts of Olympia, Washington, with their partner, kiddo, parent, found family, and 60+ farm animals. When they aren’t lost in a myriad of plans and spreadsheets, they can be found writing fiction, talking (too much) about cats and poodles, spending time with friends and family, and building queer/Disabled community.
