Davidson Design for Life, in collaboration with Davidson College students in a Public Health Policy, Practice, and Ethics course, conducted an HIA of the current Davidson street design standards to inform a rewrite of the town’s planning ordinance, scheduled to be adopted in the 2014-2015 fiscal year. The HIA considered the impacts of street design on physical activity levels, safety, environmental pollution, mobility, and health equity.
