This dataset was developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to collect and manage data related to water quality and quantity, as well as other environmental parameters, from various sources such as federal, state and local agencies. The WATERS system provides a comprehensive view of the current state of water resources and helps in tracking progress towards achieving water quality standards and environmental goals. Additionally, it assists in identifying water-related problems and informs decision-making related to water management and protection.
