Sometimes workers are not paid what they are owed by their employer. They might not receive the required minimum wage or be paid overtime. They also might not get their last paycheck after leaving a job. There are wage theft protection laws that stop this from happening. One example is the Fair Labor Standards Act. Other solutions could include laws that make employers give employees pay stubs. The time you can file wage theft complaints could be longer. The law could create a minimum penalty for employers who don't follow wage theft laws.
